Toyota Groups to Create JV for Autonomous Driving Technology
4 Toyota group firms will come up with a joint venture to mix autonomous driving technologies to further compete with self-driving top players like Bosch Group. Apparently, this new company, to be created by Advics, Denso Corp, Jtekt Corp, and Aisin Seiki Corp will integrate technologies like steering and braking, according to Nikkei. Majority of the stake goes to Denso. This JV shall mainly provide for Toyota but as well as aim at US, Chinese and European car makers. Reuters tried getting in touch with Jtekt, Aisin and Denso for a word, but refused to comment. Advics reps couldn't be reached, too.
